MDHI SALSTOS

The MDHI Space, Air, Land, and Sea Tracking and Observation Station (SALSTOS) tracks vehicles in every element, and analyzes resulting imagery such as that drawn from satellites. 

  1. World event monitoring and intervention – for example, satellites revealed heavy fires in Khartoum at the beginning of Sudan’s most recent civil war.
  2. Individual or small group event monitoring and intervention – for example, airline flights, ship transit, etc.
  3. Long term situation changes – for example, construction of nuclear missile silos near Yumen and Hami in northwestern China.
  4. Environmental change monitoring – for example, acute event (such as wildfires) and long term trend (such as deforestation)..

In accordance with stakeholder needs and interest, we also follow the Zarya International Space Station, the Otter Pup (Starfish Space), and STF-1 (the IV and V of NASA West Virginia). For example, the Otter Pup had a thruster failure, and though it can still change its orientation it can no longer change its orbit. While still conducting valuable experiments, Otter Pup can no longer dock with other satellites.
