Reverend Richard Harding (1937-2008) was a donut maker, apartment building owner, school teacher, and an American Baptist missionary in Cordova, Alaska (1975-1999). He was the husband of Susan Patterson Harding, the father of Nancy and John Harding, and my father-in-law. Richard was also one of the finest and most insightful Christian leaders that I have known.
Pastor Harding had a gift for seeing the Scriptures with a clarity and joy that few others have. He could take a discouraging moment and turn it around in an instant. His fresh perspective was an inspiration, and his ability to communicate God’s truth to others was remarkable.
While Richard is with the Lord, his voice resonates through tape recorded sermons he left behind. Special thanks to Anna Harris Arends and David Harris for transforming these sermons in usable digital files. May God’s truths embodied in this godly man bless generations to come.
